Hi there! I am a real person! I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, which is where I currently live again. In addition to Alberta, I spent over 20 years living in the Lower Mainland of BC. While I consider myself a west-coaster, I am absolutely in love with Newfoundland! Maybe one day my plans will take me there more permanently. 

 

My 'spark' bird is the l'iwi (aka the Red Honeycreeper), which I found on a birding tour on Hawaii in 2013. While I have always been a nature-nerd, this trip (and seeing these unique, rare birds) ignited a life-long passion in me. 

 

While I still consider myself an amateur (birder and photographer), I wanted to create this site to share what I have learned and to connect with fellow birders across Canada. All photographs on this website were taken by me. 

 

I hope one day this website can become a helpful destination for Canadian birding resources and unique birding items.​
